The family’s objection
When Sang Zhi’s family finds out about her relationship with Duan Jiaxu, they worry about the age gap and especially about his complicated family background, above all his situation with his father.
Duan Jiaxu’s burden lifts
In the closing episodes, the problem of his father is finally removed. Chinese recaps describe the father’s death. Duan Jiaxu moves back to Nanwu and opens his own studio. He then visits Sang Zhi’s parents and promises to dedicate his life to her happiness, and they give the couple their blessing.
The seaside proposal
For the finale, Duan Jiaxu gathers Sang Zhi’s family and friends by the sea, telling her it’s for somebody else’s proposal. Then he kneels and proposes to her himself. The girl who hid her crush for years finally gets her happy ending.
